Nguvu is a Kenyan blend from smallholder co-ops in Murang’a (Central Province): Ruthaka Kamuchuni, Ruthaka Mukui, Mwirua Riakiania, and Mwirua Kiambwe.
Grown at 1,350–1,800 masl in red loamy soil in the traditional Kikuyu homeland. Beans are graded by screen size after milling (AA is the top size grade); “Top” or “Plus” means very few defects that don’t affect the cup. Lots often go to the weekly Nairobi Coffee Exchange auction.
Cup: juicy and berry-forward — orange, cherry, lemonade; creamy body, winey acidity.
